Senior Boys Volleyball in Elrose and Dinsmore

Volleyball for the Senior Boys has been revived in Elrose; they are in a cooperative with Dinsmore Senior Boys. The team has a very busy schedule! There are three boys from Elrose and seven from Dinsmore on the team. Kerry Bailey is the head coach, Kristin Blomert is the assistant coach and Deb deCaux is managing the group. The team is practicing on Tuesdays and Thursday in Dinsmore from 7pm to 9pm.

Pickle Ball - More Images

Pickle Ball

Dinsmore Pickleball began with a group of adults' desire to become more active during the winter months. We started playing in the school gym in January 2017, with a group of 8-12 players coming out once a week. The game is easy to learn and fun to play for all ages. There are many YouTube videos that demonstrate the basics of the game, but you can learn quickly by playing! We were fortunate to obtain some funding from two local community groups to purchase 3 nets, balls and beginner paddles. Most players have now purchased their own paddles to help improve their game!

Once summer arrived, we taped out courts in the Dinsmore arena and played until the ice was put in. This was a great facility to play in as we were able to use full sized courts! So many of us are loving the game, we have now moved to playing twice a week and communicate through a group on WhatsApp! We are approaching a full year of playing pickleball in Dinsmore, and continue to encourage more participation from the community as it is a great game that promotes physical activity and socializing! If you are interested in playing pickleball, contact Ellen, Sue, or Janice. We'd love to have more players.

FCM's Legal Defense Fund

Dear Ms. Mertz:
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous contribution to FCM's Legal Defense Fund.

With the voluntary support of members like the Village of Dinsmore, FCM can continue to advance the national legal interests of Canada's local governments.

Your donation supports FCM's legal efforts on a wide variety of issues that impact communities of all sizes. FCM has intervened in a number of precedent-setting cases under federal jurisdiction that are of national importance to our sector — such as rights-of-way management. The Fund is also used by FCM to obtain proactive legal opinions on emerging policy files that have implications for local governments. Thank you once again for your contribution.

Sincerely, Clark Somerville FCM President
